A Place to Grow

A shared oasis where neighbors come together to nurture the earth and each other

Why a
Community
Garden?

Our Vision

We envision a community of growers supporting a year-round food co-op, offering food at lower prices than big grocery stores.

Our Mission

We will cultivate food security in the Digby area through pay-what-you-can food programs, education and learning, and the development of a strong network among local organizations supporting families and people in need.

Local Growers Donating for Delivery

Calling all homesteaders and local growers who want to make a real difference in their local community!

We get your extra produce into the hands of those in need.

Goals for the 2025 Growing Season

Increase Productivity

Grow enough produce to supply a weekly

food delivery program ($3 bags of produce).

We have created a gardening plan that aims to:

  • Increase soil/garden productivity through a composting and organic fertilizing program.

  • Utilize succession planting & intercropping.

  • Connect with local growers for produce donations.

Garden Tools & Resources

Secure garden supplies such as seeds, woodchips, and marketing materials, including signs and a website.

Hired Employees

Continue with two part-time employees: one skilled gardener to tend to the garden and implement the garden plan and a garden coordinator to execute plans, apply for grants, organize workshops, and connect with local organizations and businesses.

Weekly Delivery Program

Transport nutritious foods to vulnerable populations and put a dent in the area's food insecurity.
